To enroll in the RSD preschool program, students must be 3 or 4 years old by August 1 of the new school year. Openings are available at all levels, including a no-cost level (eligibility of program qualifications), a sliding fee scale level, and a full fee level. Students enrolled in the preschool program will have the same school year and school day as the rest of the district, and all classrooms are located on RSD K-4 campuses. You can obtain a preschool application at the old Gardner Building at 1000 South Arkansas Ave., in Russellville. Russellville School District holds kindergarten registration in April.
Students enrolling in kindergarten after the registration date should register in the attendance zone in which they live. State law requires children to be five years of age on or before August 1 of the new school year, in order to enroll in kindergarten. Download the Kindergarten Registration Packet, 2020-2021, completed packets will need to be returned to the Elementary school you are registering with. Students who attended school in the Russellville School District last year are pre-registered.
Students should register at the school in the attendance zone in which they live. Each school sets registration dates, usually the first week in August, along with open house dates and times.

Parents wanting to transfer their child to a different school district during the current school year must complete a "Petition for Transfer of Students" application which can be picked up at the school administration office located at 220 West 10th Street in Russellville. The Petition for Transfer of Students application must be school board approved (or denied) at a regular board meeting.
Information for the application for transfer to a NON-RESIDENT district. Russellville School District accepts students under the Arkansas Public School Choice Act of 2015. Parents who want their child to attend a different school DISTRICT at the beginning of a school year may complete a School Choice Application, which must be submitted to the NON-RESIDENT district the parents want their child to attend.
School Choice applications are not school board approved but can be denied based on availability at the NON-RESIDENT district. The window to submit School Choice applications is March-May 1 of the year in which the student seeks to begin the fall semester at the NON-RESIDENT district. Acceptance letters will be sent to parents and the resident district will be notified in June.
Parents who want to homeschool their child must complete a "Notice of Intent to Home School" application. Parents/guardians who are applying for the first time, are required to complete and submit a paper application to the school administration office located at 220 West 10th Street in Russellville. After the first year of homeschooling, parents are encouraged to renew/update their yearly application online at http://www.arkansased.gov/divisions/learning-services/home-school.
