About Special Education

The resource classroom provides students who are in general education classrooms with support in reading, writing, and math. The self-contained classroom serves special education students in a classroom setting. Both classrooms provide a place where education is tailored to students’ individual needs.

Meet the Teachers

My name is Amanda Coulter. I am a resource classroom teacher. I started school in Russellville but graduated from Lamar. My family started Taco Villa here in Russellville. I received my degree from Arkansas Tech. I have three kids in the Russellville School District. I look forward to helping the students at Oakland Heights who need a little help reach their full potential!

My name is Daphne Freeman. I am a 2017 graduate from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I previously taught third and fourth grade in Hector, AR. However, I grew up in the Russellville School District, including attending Oakland Heights! I am excited to work for the district that helped lead me in choosing this career, and I look forward to helping the students of OHE strive for success.

My name is Megan Matilo. I am originally from Ohio. I moved to Russellville in 1993 and have called it home ever since. I began my teaching career in 2019 at Oakland Heights in the Special Education self-contained classroom. I am a 1999 graduate of Russellville High School and a 2019 graduate from Arkansas Tech University with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. My goal as a teacher is to help each of one my students strive to the best of their abilities while in my classroom.
