Each Oakland Heights classroom is equipped with a SMART Board (interactive white board) and a document camera. Students also have the opportunity to use both Chrome Books and iPads in third and fourth grades. Kindergarten through second grades have to opportunity to use iPads in the classroom. Our science specialist and media specialist incorporate the use of iPads in their programs.
The computer lab houses a classroom set of desktop computers. Students in kindergarten and first grade attend the lab weekly for 30 minutes to learn beginning computer operating skills. Second, third, and fourth grades go to computer lab twice weekly to learn keyboarding skills through the Typing Club Program and to develop proficiency using multiple Google applications (docs, slides, sheets).
