A Letter From Our Principal
Welcome to Russellville Intermediate School! I am Cathy Koch, and I have had the privilege of serving as principal here since the Fall of 2005. Prior to RIS, I was principal at Dwight Elementary School for two years and at County Line Elementary School for six years. I have twenty-three years of experience as a school principal and 35 years of experience in education. Prior to my administrative career, I served as an elementary counselor and as a classroom teacher in various grades ranging from kindergarten to sixth grade.
In May 2011, I was awarded the designation of Master Principal by the Arkansas Leadership Academy at the State Board Meeting in Little Rock. I was humbled to be one of the first seventeen principals in our state to receive the award, which represented the wonderful work of our staff and school community.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love meeting new people, especially fifth graders!
I believe that our school is only successful if all of us, children and adults, are continually learning and gaining knowledge and skills to make improvements so we are able to offer our students the very best educational environment. By working together toward a common vision and purpose, RIS will be our school. It belongs to all of us. I look forward to working with you and your family to make this a great year of learning for your fifth grader.
