Mrs. Youngblood's class put their informational reading skills to the test with a mini-escape room! Students had to find events to order under headings, find language that inferred the city, and change and label text features with how they help the reader. Learning text features is fun! #OHEistheplacetobe

Congratulations to our Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. McGahee!

Hooked on learning! 🎣
Mrs. Hudson’s kindergarteners had a blast “fishing” for CVC words! Each student used a pretend fishing pole to catch a word, then read it aloud to practice decoding. From cat to pig to sun, they were sounding out each letter and blending the sounds together like pros! This hands-on game kept everyone engaged while strengthening their phonics skills and building confidence. Learning to read is even more exciting when you can catch your words! 🐟📚
Just a Reminder...Spring Break is March 23-27!

Congratulations to the Oakland Heights March Student of the Month, Allison Enciso Lopez! Allison is in Mrs. Watson's 4th grade class.

Our students enjoyed having special guest readers from Arvest Bank. We are so thankful for community partners that invest in our students! #OHEistheplacetobe

We celebrated our students during our SHINE assembly. 🤩Students earned stars for showing social and academic growth! Students also received awards for showing character traits from our Profile of an OHE student. Special thanks to the Russellville High School Interact Club for greeting our students during morning drop off and for presenting our awards! #OHEistheplacetobe #AchievingExcellenceTogether

We had a great Dr. Seuss Week! We loved the crazy hair, stripes, hats, mismatched clothes and all things Dr. Seuss!

🌟 The Rotary Club of Russellville presented each third grader with their own copy of the book “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio. Students will be completing a novel study as a grade level after spring break, and will get to keep the book when they are finished.
