Welcome to Russellville Intermediate School, home of the Storms!  I am Laura Binz, and I am privileged to serve as principal. Before coming to RIS, I was principal at Dwight Elementary School for six years and at London Elementary School for two years. Before becoming a principal, I was the GT/AP Coordinator for RSD for seven years, 5th grade GT teacher for two years, and 5th grade classroom teacher for eight years. This school year starts my 25th year as an educator. I am excited to be returning to the school where my teaching career began.

Besides working with students, spending time with my family is my favorite past time. My husband and I enjoy camping and hiking throughout the year. We have two daughters that bring their family to join us outdoors whenever possible. We are also blessed with one grand-daughter that keeps us laughing!

School is such an important place for our students.  They spend the majority of their waking hours at school. I promise that I will do everything in my power to make it a positive and safe school year. Our school is only successful if all of us, students, staff, and families work together.  RIS  belongs to all of us, and I always want you to have a voice.  I look forward to working with all of our Storms and their families this school year!
