\r\nBeginning the 2023-2024 school year, RSD will implement Smart Start Mondays in which all RSD schools will begin one hour later to provide instructional staff time to plan and collaborate on instructional practices for remediation or acceleration based on student needs.
\r\nWhat time will school start?
\r\nSchool will begin 1 hour later on Mondays starting on the first day of school, August 21, 2023.
\r\nWhat times should students be dropped off?
\r\nThe official drop off time will begin at 8:30 a.m.
\r\nWill early drop off still be available?
\r\nYes, early drop off will begin at 7:30 a.m.
\r\nWhen will buses run?
\r\nBuses will run their normal routes 1 hour later on Mondays.
\r\nWhen will breakfast be served?
\r\nBreakfast will be served beginning at 8:30 a.m. (Secondary) and 9:00 a.m. (Elementary).
\r\nWill this extend the school day?
\r\nNo. On Mondays, there will be an accelerated schedule.
\r\nWho will supervise students?
\r\nStaff familiar with the students' needs will assist them in familiar settings.
\r\nWill this affect athletic practices?
\r\nCoaches will provide practice schedules to players.
\r\nWill Pre-K participate in Smart Start Mondays?
\r\nYes, the RSD Pre-K office will provide information to preschool families.
\r\nWhy were Monday mornings chosen?
\r\nMonday mornings set the week up for success and accommodate extra curricular activities throughout the week.
\r\nWhat will staff be meeting about?
\r\nThis time will provide staff with the opportunity to collaborate and plan for remediation or acceleration based on student needs.
\r\nCommunity information sessions:
\r\nThe District will be hosting Learning Sessions for families to learn more about Smart Start Monday implementation. The learning sessions will be held at the Russellville Junior High School Library at the following dates and times:
\r\nJuly 13th, July 14th, July 19th, and July 20th
\r\nMorning Sessions 7:30 - 8:00 a.m.
Mid Day Sessions 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Evening Sessions 5:00 - 5:30 p.m.
