Certified and Classified Staff See Increase in Base Pay following May School Board Meeting
The Russellville Board of Education approved salary increases for both certified and classified staff in the scheduled monthly meeting at Gardner Auditorium on May 18.
The board approved an increase in base pay for certified staff by $1,450.00. This raises the beginning salary for teachers in the Russellville School District to $40, 000.00.
Kristi Olson, who teaches early childhood special education says "it's exciting that we are getting a raise to our base pay. It definitely makes us more competitive with districts our size and shows us that the board values their certified staff and wants us to know that." Olson has been with the district for six years.
Classified personnel received an increase of 3.8% to their current base.
Karen Lavendier, secretary at Dwight Elementary and President of the CPPC said,"I am very appreciative of the raise and the fact that the classified staff was included along with the certified staff. I commend the board for their consideration of all employees for this raise."
