Picture retakes will be on Monday, November 12. Any students that were absent the first picture day or who are new to the school since October 16 will need to take their photo for the yearbook. We will begin promptly at 8:00.

Hurricane Michael made landfall near Mexico Beach on the Florida Panhandle as a Category 4 storm early Wednesday afternoon on Oct. 10, 2018. The storm’s heavy rain, high winds, and extreme storm surges caused massive destruction. Hurricane Michael was the first Category 4 storm in recorded history
to make landfall in the northeast Gulf Coast. Join Sequoyah Elementary 3rd graders in gathering items to deliver to Hank’s Furniture Store to aid in the
disaster relief. Together, we can all make a difference. We will collect October 29th- November 2nd at Sequoyah.

Parents- Fundraiser items have arrived! They can be picked up in the workroom from 2:00-6:00 p.m. today!! Also, our sock hop is Friday, Oct. 26th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Students may dress in 50's attire this day! Let's "Rock Around the Clock"!
Sequoyah parent conferences are Monday, Oct. 22nd from 1:00 p.m-7:00 .m. Please be on time for your scheduled conference as they are scheduled in 15 minute increments. There is no school for students on Monday, Oct. 22nd and Tuesday, Oct. 23rd.
The library is in need of volunteers for the book fair on Monday, Oct. 22nd from 2-6:00 p.m. You can work as little or as long as you like!! We need help ringing up sales and totally receipts. If you can help, email Carmen Freeman at carmen.freeman@russellvilleschools.net

Wednesday is our Flu Clinic. Students who turned in consent forms will be given their flu shots in the morning. If you would like for your child to receive their flu shot at school, all consent forms need to be turned in by Wednesday morning.. No flu shots will be given to children who have not turned in a consent form.
The kindergarten field trip to the pumpkin patch has been cancelled due to weather. We are hoping to possibly reschedule this!

Great Seq. Camp Out: Tues Oct 2nd @ 5:30. Join us for s'mores, fire safety, and a story teller! Students can wear camping gear that day. After GSCO, we will host Gettin' Down for Grice at 7:00 on upper playground. This fundraiser is in honor of our own Mrs. Grice.
Sequoyah is thrilled to announce that our school has received news that our Public School Rating Score is an A! This is a tremendous honor and shows our dedication to learning. We salute all of our staff, students, and parents for helping us accomplish this honor.
Reminder: For your child's safety, morning car riders may NOT be dropped off before the 7:30 AM bell. A staff member does not go on duty until that time. We appreciate your help with this matter.

Grandparent's Day lunches are this week!! Also, grandparents may purchase gift certificates for the upcoming book fair in October! They will be for sale before and after lunch. Our book fair is kind of a big deal!! Below you will also find the amended lunch schedules for this week.

Reminder: T-Shirt order forms are due Wed 9/5 for K-4 students. These shirts are worn on field trips and other special events. We need a form returned for every student. Additional forms are available in the office.
