Parents this Thursday is the Wild West Book Fair kickoff. Students may dress in western attire. Friday from 5:30-7:30 is the annual Sock Hop. There will be door prizes for students in 50's style dress, pizza, games, and the Sock Hop itself! We are so excited about all the events and hope to see you and your family this Friday!

Sequoyah t-shirts have arrived and everyone will be receiving them before their scheduled field trips. 2nd graders will get theirs Friday morning before leaving for Petit Jean.

Dr. Gotcher will host a Twitter Town Hall on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 6:30-8 p.m. on the social media platform Twitter. During the town hall, participants will have the opportunity to give feedback on three questions: what does RSD need to start doing, what does RSD need to stop doing, and what does RSD need to continue doing. The three questions will be released at different times throughout the evening on Dr. Gotcher’s Twitter account @mlgotcher. Participants are asked to use the hashtag #RSDListens when responding to the questions.


Great Seq Campout is Thurs at 5:45! We also invite you to the Cool Cafe foodtasting/book swap event that starts at 5:00 in the cafeteria. Students may dress in their favorite camping gear tomorrow.

Don't forget that tomorrow night is the Great Sequoyah Campout! The fun starts at 5:45 and ends at 7:45.

During the afternoon of Monday October 16th, the Russellville School District, in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), is providing the flu vaccine to students and staff. Flu packets will be sent home with students over the next several weeks. Please read, complete, and sign the ADH consent form (front and back) and the RSD FERPA form. Both forms must be returned to the school nurse in order for your child to receive the flu vaccine at the school flu clinic. Please contact your child’s school nurse if you have any questions.

The Child Nutrition Department would like to remind parents that a new application must be filled out each year to qualify for free and reduced meals. If you have not filled one out for the 2017-18 school year please fill one out as soon as possible. You can complete an application online at http://russellvillesd.nlappscloud.com or obtain a paper copy from your child's school.

Reminder: Fundraiser forms should be returned Monday morning, September 17th. Thanks to all who participated.

International Literacy Day was a success! Students and staff had a great morning getting to read and talk about their favorite books. Check out the News section for more information about today's activities.
