
Congratulations to all of our OHE Spelling Bee contestants! Jade Madden (1st place), Alyssa Hubbard (2nd place), and Ava Mitchell (3rd place) will represent Oakland in the Pope County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, January 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the Center for the Arts.










Mrs. Goemmer's students conducted a science experiment to predict how water runs due to slope and gravity. It turns into waterways that often become or spill into rivers before making its way to the ocean! #EducateEquipEmpower






Our annual third grade feast was wonderful! Students enjoyed preparing and sharing their meal with classmates! This event takes teamwork, and we appreciate our community and staff support! Special thanks to...City Church (for donating 2 turkeys and a ham), Ridgewood Brothers for smoking the turkeys for a discounted price, Bridgestone for supplying 3rd grade with a grant for food and supplies. Mr. and Mrs. Shirley for carving the meat, Dr. McDonald for mashing the potatoes, Mrs. Ditto, Ms. Monterroso, and Ms. Harris for helping serve.

Eliza Ratliff and Oliver Cogan are hard at work assisting Officer Harris with door checks. Officer Oliver has officially finished his training of Officer Eliza so that she can continue this important job as Officer Harris' backup officer!!

Russellville Schools will be dismissed for Thanksgiving Break November 23rd-December 1st. Classes will resume on Monday, December 2nd. 🦃

The Quapaw String Quartet from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra played for our 3rd and 4th grade students. They learned about different meters and about the difference between classical and fiddle music. What an amazing experience for our students! #EducateEquipEmpower






Picture retake day is Thursday, November 14th. If you would like your child to have a picture retaken, please return the original packet of pictures. Pictures will also be taken of new students and students who were absent on picture day.

We celebrated our All Stars at our October SHINE assembly last week. Students earned stars for showing self -direction, our Capturing Kids Hearts word of the month. Students also received awards for showing character traits from our Profile of an OHE student. Special guests, pformer OHE music teacher, Mrs. Bell and OHE's Starman delivered our awards!
