
February is Black History Month. Here are just a few famous people with Arkansas ties that your family could learn about this month in honor of Black History: Sidney Moncrief, Louis Jordan, Corliss Williamson (from Russellville!!), Barbara Hendricks, Maya Angelou, Daisy Bates, and Joyce Elise Williams Warren.

Wellness Wednesday Storms worked on a second art project involving different print methods. Marbled Paper using shaving cream and liquid watercolors. The process is fun and easy (and messy ☺️). Thank you Ms. Terry and Mrs. Lorenz for leading this Wellness Wednesday.

Due to current weather reports and an ice storm warning issued by the National Weather Service, RSD has made the decision to close all schools tomorrow, January 22, 2024, in order to ensure the safety of all students and families.

Respect is our Capturing Kids' Hearts word for January. Look over the newsletters to give your family some great ideas of how to help strengthen this skill in your Storm.

Report cards should come home with your Storm today (January 12). Please review it with your student and help them make goals for the second semester of school!

RIS Quiz Bowl team participated in the Arch Ford Quiz Bowl tournament Wednesday. Students did a great job representing RIS!
